Why I like Yeshiva School
If I listed all of the benefits I have gained through study in New Life’s Yeshiva school it would be a long list. One of the best benefits is it has brought me closer to the Lord. Yeshiva school has taught me to understand the bible better and I am actually learning to study a little Hebrew. I have learned about the meaning of the Bible the way God intended. God wants us to follow His Torah –God’s teachings and instructions.
I have a clearer understanding of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God being one God. I also have started to understand the Shema, Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel, the Lord is God, the lord is one. You shall love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. I love learning about my Hebraic roots. Thank you Pastor and Co-Pastor for letting me learn about the Bible God’s way….. BreAnna
The Torah has opened real life to me. After visiting Israel and then studying Torah the Bible makes sense and there is a real connection to the Land the people and the God of Israel. Jesus is not just a god, He is God. He was alive before the foundations of the world and is still the “I AM” giving hope throughout his faithfulness (Emunah). His word; the Bible, is truth and we cannot compromise it to fit with what we want to do. God is Holy (Kadosh).
Learning about why God established feast days, the time and seasons we are to meet with God teaches us to know that God is aware of the seasons of our life, therefore when we meet with Him, He makes the transitions from season to season easier. We also learn how to worship and praise God properly. God has established an appointed and set time that He wants with us to bring us closer to Him and so that we can find rest in Him.
As we learn the truth of God’s word and accept it, it fills those empty places – It makes me want more of God. Now I have a reverential fear of Him, and I understanding how He covers me in his love. I have learned that He gave us covenants. A covenant is an eternal promise not a contract which is an agreement which can be easily broken.
Covenants that God gave are:
Edenic - promise of authority and fruitfulness
Adamic - Protection from our enemies
Noahic – promise of the rainbow to preserve us
Abrahamic – Redemption
Mosaic – instruct us how to live out Torah
Davidic – Promise of His continued kingdom and
Renewed - promise of restoration
These covenants direct my path and provide a light unto my way and ready my steps in the Word. Psalm 119: 105, 133. Torah has taught me to choose life and how to understand and break generational curses from my family and receive God’s blessings through obedience to his word.
Finally, I have learned that Torah is not just a string of laws but an operations manual for daily living. Torah is the teaching for what is right and wrong in every area of our lives. When we follow Torah we have abundant life, prosper and we then are truly the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
I encourage everyone to take the Torah classes and set an example for your children, implant in them a hunger for the true things of God, so that when they get old they will never depart from Him, but make Him their God and follow His teaching and instruction lifestyle.
